Resurrection Is Still Happening

I’m still trying to process what happened last night at Gatekeepers, our young adult ministry at GateCity Church.

We planned to baptize five people. That’s it—just five. Two had never been baptized before, and three were coming back to reaffirm their faith. But the moment we started baptizing these five, you could feel it, the Holy Spirit was calling people to repentance and renewal of faith.

One by one, hearts began to move. We heard stories—raw, beautiful stories of repentance, of confession, of returning to Jesus. One young woman stood up and shared that she had once been an atheist. Last night, she made a public declaration of faith and stepped into the waters of baptism. The room erupted in celebration.

But that was only the beginning.

More began to come. Some weeping, some rejoicing, all encountering God in real time. What was meant to be a baptism service for five turned into over thirty young adults stepping into the waters.

There was laughter and tears. Joy and holy reverence. A young woman gave her life to Jesus and got baptized in the same moment.

Young married couples stepped in together.

The Spirit of God was hovering, calling people by name. This wasn’t just a cool moment; it was God marking a generation.

I’m telling you—He’s putting His hand on Gen Z. Not with hype, but with power.

As we approach Resurrection Sunday, I can’t think of a better picture of resurrection. Jesus is still raising people from death to life. He’s still calling hearts home. Be encouraged, God is doing something fresh. You may feel like things are dead, in the grave. But I want to tell you resurrection is coming because naturally and spiritually Sunday’s on the way.
